Vibrating String
Nodes, loops, nodes, loops.
The spring steel plate at the end of the string oscillates a hundred times per second. Lateral movements depend on how strongly we pull on the other end of the string.
Depending on the tension, different standing waves form. They appear as nodes – where the string always stays in the same place. Or as loops – where the string quickly oscillates between two positions.
