Terrella
Solar wind – particle shower – aurora borealis.
Terra = Earth. Terrella is its diminutive form. But this one packs a punch!
The small metallic globe at the center of the large glass sphere is the Terrella. A button press generates electrical voltage, creating a solar wind. Through ionization (plasma), the gas turns into a pale, artificial aurora borealis. By altering the magnetic field of the North Pole, we can also manipulate the northern lights.
