Penrose Parquet
Aperiodic pattern.
In the aperiodic Penrose tiling, subpatterns repeat irregularly, even though shapes like hexagons or stars appear throughout.
Using only two different shapes, the kite and the dart, one can create a section of an infinite, aperiodic tiling here. Seamless, gapless – and named after the mathematics professor Roger Penrose.
