Light Refraction
What paths does light take?
Light travels in straight lines in a homogeneous medium like air or water. At the boundary between different materials, its propagation direction changes. This change strongly depends on the angle of incidence.
When a laser beam strikes a calm water surface, part of it is reflected. Another part is refracted and enters the water. The directions of these respective parts can be clearly observed here, even with varying angles of incidence.
