Leonardo’s Bridge
Clever: How Leonardo da Vinci builds a lightweight bridge.
No screws, no nails, no ropes; just a few planks. From these, he creates a sturdy bridge. An idea conceived in the 15th century by the ingenious Leonardo da Vinci.
In 1483, he wrote to his future patron Ludovico Sforza: “I have a guide for constructing very light and easily portable bridges, with which the enemy can be pursued and put to flight.” Were they ever used for that purpose?
