Moiré
It’s all a matter of perspective.
Black point clouds: this impression is created by two perforated plates mounted one behind the other at a certain distance. As the viewing distance increases, these point clouds diminish, but their relative size remains the same.
Moiré effects are observed where regular patterns overlap, such as in textiles, garden fences, shutters, or spoked wheels.
