Elliptical Mirror
This έλλειψις has only one goal.
At one focus of this mirrored ellipse stands a rotating periscope. At the other focus, a colored cone. Looking at the mirrored edge of the ellipse, we see that the light beam always hits the colored cone.
The Greek word έλλειψις (élleipsis) translates to « lack » or « omission ». But this does not mean the mirrored ellipse lacks fascinating properties – quite the contrary!
