Blind Spot
Wasn’t there an orange?
Stare at the apple with one eye and slowly bring it closer to your face. At a certain distance, the orange beside the apple seems to vanish.
Where did the orange go? At that moment, it “rests” on the blind spot, where the optic nerve fibers leave the eye. We normally don’t perceive this blind spot because our brain automatically fills in (interpolates) the missing part of the image.
