Benham's Disc
Benham’s disks: seeing colors where there are none.
The disks display patterns with black and white shapes. When these disks rotate, we perceive colors.
When we see black and white, our color receptors for red, green, and blue light are equally stimulated. However, these cones in the retina respond at different speeds. This is why, in a moving black-and-white pattern, we can also perceive colorful patterns.
