Resonant Rings
Vibrations based on frequency.
Six spring-steel rings oscillate in response to the speaker’s frequency. If it matches the natural frequency of a ring, the oscillations amplify, creating standing waves.
Each ring has multiple natural frequencies and resonances. Here, they are successively passed through as the speaker frequency increases. When technical devices or machines (through periodic processes) trigger unwanted resonances, these can even become destructive.
